Huaytalla Dionisio was born in the district of Muquiyauyo - Jauja, Peru in 1940. Self-taught, he began to exhibit his work during the 70’s. He was the winner of the First National Award of Watercolor by the ICPNA, Peruvian North-American Cultural Institute in 1986. Huaytalla has participated in numerous exhibitions in Peru, Venezuela, Colombia, Costa Rica, the United States, Mexico, Spain, Germany, Czech Republic, France, and Switzerland. Among his recent works are featured “La Capilla del Hombre” (the Chapel of the Man) in the Guayasamin Foundation, 1998, the Traveling Exhibition in Europe “Grupo Milenium” (Millennium Group) 1999-2000,and the Collective exhibition in the Museum of the Americas, San Juan de Puerto Rico 2001. Recent solo exhibitions were at La Alianza Francesa (The French Alliance) in 2000 and the University of the Andes in 2006, both in Peru. Currently, Huaytalla Dionisio lives and works in Peru.
