Alejandra Prieto (b. 1980 Santiago, Chile) lives and works in Santiago. She attended PUC University for her BFA and Chile University for her MFA. She has shown internationally, her work was part of XI Imaginarios Sociales y Prácticas Artísticas, XI La Habana Biennale 2012; Projetaveis VII Biennale Mercosur, Porto Alegre, Brasil, 2009; El Terremoto de Chile I Triennale de Chile, Santiago, Chile 2009. She has participated in a group shows like: Junkies Promises, in Paul Kasmin Gallery, NY, 2013; Proyecto LARA in NC-Arte Bogota Colombia, 2013: Contaminaciones Urbanas, MAC USP, Sao Paulo, Brasi 2010; Deshabitable Daniel López Show, Roebling Hall gallery, NY 2007, among others. In 2011 she received the first CCU Art Prize in Chile and the Young Visual Creation Award of the Latin Union, in Paris, 2007. Prieto participated in the International Studio and Curatorial Program, (ISCP,) NY; and the first edition of LARA, Latinoamerican Roaming Art, NC-Arte, Bogota, Colombia.
